Myofascial Decompression
Release restrictions. Restore movement. Rebuild performance.
You may be familiar with techniques like massage or scraping 👐 — they press into your tissues to release tension.
Myofascial decompression takes a different approach. Instead of pushing down, we gently lift and create space 🧲.
Using specialized cups (similar in look to traditional Chinese
cupping 🏺 but very different in purpose), we apply suction to
targeted areas while you move. This dynamic method combines
hands-on care with movement 🏃♂️, helping your tissues slide and
glide the way they’re supposed to.
In fact, you may have seen this technique before —
Olympic legend Michael Phelps famously used myofascial
decompression during the 2016 Olympics to help his body
recover and perform at its best 🏅.
Why does that matter?
Your body is made up of layers — skin, fat, fascia, muscle — all
designed to move smoothly together. When those layers
become sticky or dehydrated 🧊 (often from injury, overuse, or
inflammation), motion becomes restricted. This can lead to
stiffness, pain, or decreased performance.
By creating space between those layers and encouraging
movement while the cups are applied, we help:
-
Improve mobility and range of motion 📈
-
Inhibit overactive muscles when needed 🔧
-
Facilitate underperforming muscles to activate properly ⚡️
In short: this isn’t about leaving marks — it’s about leaving you
moving and feeling better 💪. (And for the record: the
temporary discoloration left behind means very little — it’s similar to a superficial bruise and is not the goal or indicator of success.)
Myofascial decompression is about restoring the natural sliding surfaces of your body so you can move efficiently and comfortably again. Whether you’re an athlete 🏋️♀️, weekend warrior 🚴♂️, or just trying to get through the day without tightness or discomfort, this is a smarter approach to soft tissue care that works with your body — not against it.
